coelasquid: I can’t understand why people honestly think It is cool any funny to harass artists in real life for drawing pictures they don’t like on the internet. And the people who get behind it because they don’t like that artist either? You’re just encouraging that type of behaviour and making cons worse…

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/05/02/north-carolina-gay-marriage-amendment-1_n_1470956.html Any time I see this kind thing - bigots defending themselves from the “threat” of not being in a position of perceived superiority - it makes me wonder if they’re doing it because they legitimately understand how crappily they treat the targets of their sexism/racism/homophobia/etc,...

Horse Face
Just started playing Pathfinder tonight for the first time (it’s basically like a streamlined earlier edition D&D from what I’m told).   The character I decided to run is a Dwarven Barbarian named Helga Stonefist, who has the nickname “Horseface” from the large iron helm she wears.   The helm has a simple T-shaped slit in front for vision, and rising from the top of it...

The Future of BPD: The Plan
So I think I’ve figured out how I’m going to proceed with BPD. First off, Book 4 I’ve decided will conclude at the end of April instead of the end of May.  It’s going to be thicker than the previous books anyway, being that I’ve been going 3-a-week since about two thirds the way into Book 3, so in the end length wise it will still be a bit longer but not freakishly...

Make that Change
Something’s gotta change. For a long time now, I’ve not been very happy with my life or my work. It’s been extraordinarily frustrating for me because, at a glance, I am doing exactly what I always wanted to be doing.  I’m writing and drawing my own comic, which has been fairly successful and continues to grow each year.  I’m a self-employed artist who sets her own...

Why SOPA won't work: A Simple Analogy
The AFL-CIO’s Paul Almeida, arguing in favor of SOPA, stated that free speech was not a relevant consideration, because “The First Amendment does not protect stealing goods off trucks.”   -from wikipedia You’re absolutely right. However, SOPA is not the solution, as it’s responses are too broad and clumsy to be effective.  It’s a “Spray and...

D&D Winter Solstice - Homecoming
This is my “Solstice Story”, a quasi-homework assignment for my D&D group to tell what my character did over the christmas break.  To clarify, while my character is named “Inix” she is NOT the same Inix as in BPD.  This is the D&D Inix. “Why am I not surprised to find you here?” Inix winced and took a deep swig of her beer; it was a dark dwarven...

Cathartic Letter I'll Never Actually Deliver
Just got a note left at our front door from our rear neighbor. Aparently, for the last 2 weeks the lights in our apartment have been “too bright” and they wanted us to possibly rearrange things so it wasn’t so bright & disturbing for their new baby. I’d like to think I’m not a total inconsiderate asshole, but being our lights are NOT that bright (the brightest...

2+ months and STILL no word on my XBL account
My XBoxLive account is still MIA.  I just posted this at the official help forums.  We shall see if anything comes of it….. On August 6th, I was automatically signed off XBL on my 360 randomly.  I had been watching some videos on Netflicks earlier, but hadn’t touched it in maybe a half hour.  I tried to sign in with my only XBL-connected Gamer Tag, only to have it give me an error...

10 years ago today....
I was in my only 8am class of the week.   We were doing some sort of assignment that involved paint, arranging geometric shapes into black and white compositions.   We were listening to the radio; someone had gone up to change the station because there was “something about a plane crash…. and that’s depressing.”  It mentioned the WTC, and someone brought up the fact that...

Toss Productivity Out
Post written by Leo Babauta; Copied from Zenhabits.net (GO THERE & SHOW HIM SOME LOVE!!!) For at least a couple of years, Zen Habits was one of the top productivity blogs, dispensing productivity crack for a nominal fee (your reading time). I’d like to think I helped people move closer to their dreams, but today I have different advice: Toss productivity advice out the window. Most of it...

As President Obama honored fallen soldiers at Arlington National Cemetery on Monday, three members of the Westboro Baptist Church protested the ceremony, holding signs that read “Pray for more dead soldiers” and “God hates your prayers,” as the controversial group has become known to do. They were met by about 70 counterprotesters, including members from a group just as contentious as the church:...
