How dare people want to be friends!!

What? You trust me and like hanging out with me? Egads,…

Friend Zone doesn’t mean you failed at a romantic relationship, because friendships can still evolve into very strong loving relationships down the line. When someone complains about being “Friend Zoned”, to me that means they really just want to bone the other person, or (to put it in a more polite, diplomatic way), they’re impatient that that the other person doesn’t want to go in the same direction in the relationship Right Now that they do.

Really, there’s 3 ways to respond; 1, you can keep trying, but in a way that is respectful to the other person’s boundaries and isn’t pressuring them into something they just might not want, ever.  2, you can walk away from a potentially rewarding friendship, simply because you’ve “lost” the chance to fuck them.  Or 3, you can try to see them as a friend in the same way as you see your male friends, and enjoy what you have.  

IMO, if you genuinely cared about the other person, you’d be going with 3 anyway, which is why this whole “I just want to me romantic with this friend zone” chick excuse doesn’t hold any weight with me.  It sounds defensive and dismissive, even if the guy (OR girl) saying it isn’t being consciously sexist.
